BAC gives grants, presents free and affordable arts events, trains artists and arts professionals, teaches students, incubates new projects and promotes artists and cultural groups across our borough. As Brooklyn’s cultural anchor since 1966, BAC has also been the catalyst helping the arts community grow. We continually evaluate and evolve what we do to meet the changing times, and keep our commitment to community engagement, diversity and inclusion when it comes to the arts in our borough.

Included here are BAC's current, live applications. Please contact Submittable directly if you have any issues with the online form. For application questions, please contact the BAC department indicated in the guidelines of the application.

Welcome!

We are so glad you are interested in being a teaching artist with Brooklyn Arts Council! We are building a roster of versatile teaching artists to match with schools, older adult centers, and various community programs from January - June 2027. Please review our application guidelines before applying. You can also review our FAQ here.

How it works:

You'll complete this single application which will help us get to know you as a teaching artist. You'll then be asked if you'd like to apply to work with youth populations (K-12 students), older adults, intergenerational audiences, or if you a part of a performance group with a built student assembly program we should know about. Based on what you select, you'll be asked additional questions pertaining to that audience and program opportunity.

You do NOT need to select multiple opportunities in order to be considered, however it will strengthen your application.
