Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) offers fiscal sponsorship to individual artists and emerging cultural organizations for cultural work that has strong artistic merit and aligns with BAC’s mission to enrich the cultural life of the borough. Ideal candidates have the ability to articulate a feasible need for fiscal sponsorship and how it will benefit their fundraising capacity.

BAC fiscal sponsees generally fit into one of the following categories:

  • Artistic projects executed by Brooklyn-based individual artists or collectives. Projects can take place in Brooklyn or elsewhere;
  • Artistic projects that are undertaken by individual artists or collectives, who are not Brooklyn-based, but take place in Brooklyn or benefit Brooklyn residents;
  • Activities of Brooklyn-based cultural organizations that are in the process of incorporating as nonprofits;
  • Specific cultural projects undertaken by for-profit organizations that are mission-driven in nature and demonstrate strong benefit to Brooklyn residents.

BAC Fiscal Sponsorship contracts are announced on a quarterly basis for either annual or two year agreements, depending on the project and scope of work.
